Felix Cavaliere is an American singer, songwriter, musician and record producer born in Pelham, New York on November 29, 1942. He is best known for being a member of the bands The Young Rascals and Joey Dee and the Starliters. Cavaliere learned how to play the piano from a young age. While in college he was part of the bands The Stereos and The Escorts. In 1965 he helped form the band The Rascals with Eddie Brigatim, Gene Cornish, and Dino Danelli. Together they released nine studio albums and five compilation albums. In 1997 the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. As a solo artist, he released his debut studio album in 1974 self-titled Felix Cavaliere. He has since released the albums Destiny, Treasure, Castle in the Air, Dreams in Motion, Nudge It Up a Notch, and Midnight Flyer. Cavaliere released his music through the labels Bearsville, Wounded Bird, MCA, and Stax. In 2009 he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
