Los Angeles hip-hop producer/DJ/rapper Exile was born Aleksander Manfredi in the late 1970s.  At the age of 18, he teamed up with a then-16-year-old Aloe Blacc to form Emanon and the duo began creating music together, releasing mix tapes throughout the mid- to late 1990s.  In 2002, they released the EP Anon & On, followed by album The Waiting Room in 2005.

In 2006, Exile released his first solo album, Dirty Science, which featured collaborations with such artists as Ghostface Killah, Kardinal Offishall, Slum Village, and Miguel Jontel.

Exile teamed up with rapper Blu for the critically acclaimed album Below the Heavens in 2007.  A string of solo albums followed, including Radio in 2009, 4TRK Mind in 2011 and Zip Disks & Floppies in 2013.

Emanon was back in 2016 with album Dystopia and Exile once again teamed up with Blu to release single “Constellations” in September 2017.

In addition to performing, Exile has produced for many other artists, including Jurassic 5 (“Baby Please”), Mobb Deep (“Pearly Gates”), Akon and Kardinal Offishall (“Graveyard Shift”), and Snoop Dogg (“Lullaby”).
