Chris Jones was born Christopher Deshun Jones in Houston, Mississippi on July 3, 1994. He was the second round, 37th overall pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs signed him to a four-year contract amounting to $6.23 million with a $2.73 signing bonus. He serves as the defensive tackle of the team and wears shirt No. 95. Prior to going pro, he played college football at Mississippi State University.
He entered the NFL Draft instead of staying for his senior year. He was then invited to the NFL Combine. He was in the NFL All-Rookie Team. He was also the AFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 2 of 2017. While in high school he was considered as a five-star recruit.
