His father being an actor became his early influence in the entertainment business. He became part of his dad’s movie in 1974’s “The Execution of Private Slovik.”

Charlie had a certain interest on acting and baseball. With this, he starred and produced several Super-8 films. His lifetime record as a pitcher was 40-15. After high school, he pursued acting rules. Among those was 1984’s “Red Dawn.” This followed many other TV roles and low-profile releases. His big break was 1986’s “Platoon,” which is an Oscar winning epic.
