Broadway Sounds is comprised of band members Phillips, Jones, and Ma who are a group of music producers and DJ’s from Melbourne, Australia that are known for their psychedelic pop infused tracks. The group describes their musical style as a mash up of R&B, afro rock, boogie funk, psych pop, calabash rock, township jive, soul, kwela jazz, soca, and exotic folk music. The group has released a number of singles since 2014, including the critically acclaim “Booby Trap” and “Sing it Again.” In 2016 Broadway Sounds released their first EP, under the 100 Billion Wires label, called Exclusive Love/ Digital Influence. Locally, Broadway Sounds have played alongside Australian artists such as NO ZU, Client Liaison, Kirkis, and GL. Internationally, the group has played alongside acts such as Hudson Mohawke, Carl Craig, Awesome Tapes from Africa, Invisible Cities DJ’s, and Jamie XX in festivals such as Let Them Eat Cake, Vivid Festival, Melbourne Music Week, Beyond The Valley, and Sugar Mountain.
