Black Milk was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 14, 1983 as Curtis Eugene Cross. His career in music started in 2002, and his solo album Sound Of The City dropped on 2005. This was followed by Popular Demand (2007), Tronic (2008), and Album of the Year (2010).

He worked on the Random Axe project with Guilty Simpson and Sean Price, and they released the album on 2011. In the same year, he also put out Black & Brown! with Danny Brown.

His solo album No Poison No Paradise dropped on 2013. The year after, he released If There’s a Hell Below and the EP Glitches in the Break. He teamed up with Nat Turner in 2016, and they released two collaborative albums The Rebellion Sessions and Sunday Outtakes. In 2018, he released his seventh LP FEVER.
