Alvin Kamara is an American football player born in Norcross, Georgia on July 25, 1995. He is a running back for the NFL team the New Orleans Saints. He went to high school at Norcross High School in Georgia and played on the school team the Blue Devils and was an integral part in his school coming in first in the state championships. He went to the University of Alabama for a short time and played with the school team but was redshirted as a freshman. He attended Hutchinson Community College in Kansas for his redshirt freshman season. He transferred as a sophomore to the University of Tennessee and played under the coach Butch Jones. In 2015 he set a school record for most rushing yards in a debut game with 144 rushing yards in the game. In 2017 he was drafted by the Saints in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft, 67th overall. In the 2017 season he split the backfield duties with Mark Ingram Jr. and in 2018 he started the season off as the main running back. He was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2017 and is the first player in NFL history to have 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in his first 20 games.
